Free Crochet Pattern: Lacy Evening Scarf

As the winter winds down, and the evenings still stay cool in spring, this lightweight (easy!) open design scarf will keep you warm and is quite pretty....dare I say sexy?

It's a lovely deep peacock blue with scattered sequins, just enough bling to make it dressy, or be worn with jeans casually.

Find it in our ETSY shop at a great price, because it works up quickly.

For those of you that want to make this, here is the free pattern!

Materials:
  • 6 mm hook
  • About 1/3 - 1/2 skein of Patton's Lace Sequin Yarn in Aquamarine. You can make it longer and use more of course. I was surprised at how little yarn I used, because it is so lightweight and thin, it's a bit deceiving (in a good way!). This is one of my new favorite yarns :)
 Notes/Abbreviations:
  • This pattern uses the lattice stitch.
  • Chain and stitch loosely for this look, using the larger hook with thin yarn like this keeps the scarf lightweight.
  • Increase the foundation chain to the desired width if you crochet in a tighter fashion, just use an even number.
  • ch = chain
  • dc = double corchet
  • st = stitch
  • sk = skip
  • * = indicated repeated part of pattern

                                Pattern:
  • Chain 18
  • Dc into 2nd st, ch 1, skip 1 st, *dc, ch 1, sk 1* <--lattice stitch, repeat across, then chain 2 and turn.
  • *Dc in ch space, ch 1* across, ch 2, turn
  • repeat  to desired length, always dc-ing into the ch space
  • optional fringe: I added a few pieces of fringe, kept it airy and lightweight for spring. Planning to make another in a new color and add beads!

Happy stitching!

Love this pattern - would like to know how you attach the beads for a classy sparkle - is it done after the shawl is completed and how? I plan to make this one for myself and to share - my young granddaughter loves scarfs and this will be a nice Easter gift. Thank you.

I just finished making my version of this 'Lacey Evening Scarf' and I am so pleased with how it turned out. I used Berroco Millefiori light color 6885 which is a beautiful varigated simmery silver to a lovely purple with lots of shades between. I would attach a picture but am clueless as to how. Thank you so much for this pattern. I wanted something alittle more substantial so i used a chain 36 to get just what I wanted.
